Hearts Beat Back: The Heart of New Ulm Project was chosen as one of 10 partnerships from among more than 160 nominees to be included in a study of successful collaborative partnerships focused on improving community health by the University of Kentucky's College of Public Health in conjunction with Commonwealth Center for Governance Studies, Inc.

"Models of Collaboration Involving Hospitals, Public Health Departments and Others: Improving Community Health through Successful Partnerships” studied each partnership in-depth and identified the lessons gained from their successful experiences.
