Vision:

Creating a world without heart disease. One individual and one community at a time.

Who we are

Hearts Beat Back is the population health improvement arm of the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation. We exist to create a world without heart disease. We believe that to do this we must move outside the clinic walls and improve the health of our communities by ensuring the places people live, learn, work and play support and promote healthful choices.

Our approach is to offer accessible, affordable and impactful evidence-based solutions to help you improve the health of the populations you serve. What sets us apart is that we not only deliver successful solutions, we research them! Hearts Beat Back began in 2009 in New Ulm, Minn., where we collaborated with key stakeholders to successfully reduce heart attacks and risk factors in one community. Through this and other cutting-edge population health research, we have tested and discovered, in communities just like yours, the most promising ways to improve health. Now we’re sharing what we’ve learned.

Our passion is to make the healthful choice the easy choice for all! Our experts can help you improve the health of your population through our Hearts Beat Back solutions, which include technical assistance, assessment, strategy and program design development, award-winning programs and services, and measurement support.
