American Hospital Association
Hearts Beat Back: The Heart of New Ulm Project and New Ulm Medical Center are the recipients of a 2014 NOVA Award from the American Hospital Association (AHA).
Established in 1993, only five AHA NOVA Awards are given nationwide each year. The award recognizes hospitals and health systems for their collaborative efforts toward improving community health. The Heart of New Ulm Project was honored for demonstrating how hospitals and health organizations working with partners in the community can improve the health and wellness of the people and patients that hospitals serve.

Hearts Beat Back: The Heart of New Ulm Project and New Ulm Medical Center are the recipients of a 2014 Community Benefit Award (small hospital category) from the Minnesota Hospital Association. The Minnesota Hospital Association’s Annual Health Care Awards honor the best and brightest in Minnesota health care — individuals who have offered dedicated service to hospitals and organizations that have implemented successful, innovative programs.
2014 Successful Collaborative Partnership
University of Kentucky study
Hearts Beat Back: The Heart of New Ulm Project was chosen as one of 10 partnerships from among more than 160 nominees to be included in a study of successful collaborative partnerships focused on improving community health by the University of Kentucky's College of Public Health in conjunction with Commonwealth Center for Governance Studies, Inc. "Models of Collaboration Involving Hospitals, Public Health Departments and Others: Improving Community Health through Successful Partnerships” studied each partnership in-depth and identified the lessons gained from their successful experiences.
