Support the Project

Heart disease is the number one killer in the United States, killing nearly 700,000 men and women and costing our nation over $142 billion annually. In fact, cardiovascular disease takes more lives than the next seven leading causes of death combined. But unlike some diseases, which remain mysterious, hard to detect and treat, heart disease is preventable, detectable and treatable.

The Heart of New Ulm’s goal is to change these statistics by reducing, and ultimately eliminating, heart attacks in New Ulm, Minnesota.

Together we can turn these numbers around.

Allina Hospitals and Clinics has committed $1.9 million each year from 2009-2011 for the Heart of New Ulm project. However, for this project to reach all areas of our community and to make a significant impact, many partners are needed to make this project a success. The New Ulm Medical Center Foundation, through the generous contributions of its donors, has committed to partnering with the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation to raise an additional $5 million over the next 5 years to fund vital screening efforts and interventions to accomplish our goal. Our supporters – whether through their tax-deductible donations or volunteerism - are key to our success.

Join us.

The Heart of New Ulm project is a community-driven project that will take many partners for it to be successful. Please join us, whether it is donating, volunteering or participating in the project, we need your help. Together we will make a difference.
